"END OF THE ROAD"End of the Road

A diverse mix of traditional, maritime, folk and blue grass is perhaps the
most accurate description of the music of “End of the Road”.
This trio of talented musicians has been entertaining enthusiastic audiences throughout Ontario and the Maritimes for many years both individually and
as former members of “John Prince & A Piece of the Rock”.

The new project, “End of the Road” provides the perfect stage to showcase
their talents as they perform old favorites and a large and growing repertoire
of original compositions written by John Prince. Their strong vocal harmonies and lyrical melodies present a memorable musical experience that leaves audiences yearning for more.

THE MEMBERS

John Prince - A native of Princeton, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, John relocated to Ontario in the mid 1970s. He has sung and played guitar with various groups and personalities from the East, including Dick Nolan, the Bay Boys and the late John Allen Cameron. In 1992 John formed “John Prince & A Piece of the Rock” which enjoyed a very successful and popular 10 year run.

His musical influences range from his roots in traditional and maritime music through to the country/rock sounds of the Eagles, traditional country of Merle Haggard and Don Williams and the haunting ballads of Gordon Lightfoot. John is perhaps best known in his native Newfoundland, for his song and video “Newfoundland Blessing” which he co-wrote with his cousin Rex Roberts.

With his rhythmic ‘finger style’ guitar and warm melodic voice, John leads audiences on a musical journey they will long remember.

Bruce McDaniel - Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Bruce began playing guitar at the age of 12, picking out old fiddle tunes learned from a friend of his father. Over the years he has played in many local bands in styles from blues with The John Carr Band, rock with Tin Pan Alley and country with Terry Sumsion.

Bruce’s fluid, flat picking guitar style together with his hot mandolin licks and harmony vocals are an integral part of the sound of “End of the Road”.

Donny Wood - Originally from Oxford, Nova Scotia, Donny began playing piano at age 6 with his father a fiddle and accordion player. Equally adept on bass and piano, he has toured extensively throughout North America and the British Isles with the Cape Breton Symphony Fiddlers and the Scottish Accent Band of which he is a founding member. Donny has performed with country great George Jones and Scotland’s Andy Stewart as well as Canadian entertainers J.K.Gulley, John Allen Cameron and fiddler Graham Townsend. A seasoned session musician, Donny brings a wealth of experience to "End of the Road"
